Packing Tips

At Dragon Moving Co., we make your move smooth, organized, and hassle-free. Planning ahead is key to protecting your belongings and making moving day stress-free. Here are some expert packing tips:

Pre-Packing

• Organize & List: Sort items by category (fragile, clothing, toys, electronics, etc.) and make a checklist.
• Heavy Items in Small Boxes: Pack books, canned goods, and other heavy items in smaller cartons for easier lifting.
• Fragile Items: Wrap delicate items like vases, glassware, and perfume bottles carefully in bubble wrap or newspaper.
• “Do Not Move” Essentials: Keep a separate box for immediate needs, including toiletries, toilet paper, utensils, sheets, blankets, and a change of clothes.

Packing

• Use Professional Materials: Sturdy boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, and scissors help protect your items.
• Fill Boxes Completely: Avoid half-filled boxes—they can collapse. Fill empty spaces with crumpled paper to prevent shifting.
• Protect Fragile Items: Wrap delicate items individually and place protective bumpers at the top and bottom of the box.
• Secure & Label: Tape boxes securely from top to bottom using proper carton sealing tape. Clearly label contents and destination on two sides of each box. Separate fragile items for easy handling.

Additional Tips

• Furniture & Drawers: Empty filing cabinets, dressers, desks, and other drawers. Movers may wrap furniture with drawers intact using shrink-wrap.
• Paintings & Glass: Wrap mirrors, paintings, and glass in protective pads and place in picture cartons with paper bumpers to prevent shifting.
• Hazardous Items: Movers cannot transport flammable items, explosives, aerosols, or paint. Keep these in your vehicle for the move.
• Donate or Recycle: Consider donating unwanted clothes, shoes, or household items to local churches, shelters, or charities. Libraries, used bookstores, and schools may accept books or supplies.
